“Mr. Bean’s” daughter talks about the impact her parents’ divorce had on her life

Lily Sastry, Rowan Atkinson’s daughter, has spoken out for the first time about her parents’ divorce, saying the split has left her with darkness and chaos. The Mr Bean actor, 70, split from Sunetra Sastry in 2015 after 24 years of marriage. Sunetra, 67, filed for divorce over his unreasonable behaviour. Lily, now 30, said she experienced a lot of loneliness and chaos in her twenties and explained that she felt lost, only starting to feel more normal in her late twenties, writes the Daily Mail, according to KosovaPress. Lily, who lives in London, is currently a professional artist and had her first exhibition at an independent gallery last year. She changed her surname from Atkinson to Sastry in 2017, which sparked speculation about a possible split between her and her father. She described her journey as difficult, saying that art was what helped her get through the suffering and find meaning and purpose in life. Rowan and Sunetra also have a son, Ben Atkinson, 31, an officer in the Royal Gurkha Regiment. Rowan was previously in a relationship with actress Louise Ford, whom he met in 2013 while performing in a West End comedy. After the split, Rowan moved into a £4 million house in Hampstead, while Sunetra lives in a £21 million villa in London, KosovaPress reports. Rowan has amassed a huge fortune of around £70 million, thanks to his successful acting career.
